Cold Sarah
Cold Sarah from Gabriela G. on Vimeo.
I shot this footage at a lovely brunch on the beautiful deck of a dear friend. I went home and found a story I had written in my blog a while ago and decided that the imagery and the words went together very well.
I created the simple piano song on Garageband. The music is very minimal because I don't know how to play the piano and I didn't want to risk any more notes :)
The hardest part was recording the narration due to technical difficulties. So what began as a quick project became an obsession to get the audio right. It's still a little off but I just wanted it to end.
I hope you enjoy it!

Motion
Motion from Gabriela G. on Vimeo.
Although it is difficult to define the city of Los Angeles or fully explain its history, the Motion segment demonstrates the eclectic, multi-cultural and unique aspects of the city utilizing the idea of a city in constant movement. The choice of images for this segment were scrutinized deeply because of the environment of the installation- mirrors mimicking a kaleidoscope - while at the same time, keeping in mind the key message which is the intensity of the Los Angeles allure to people from all over the world and the way this shapes the cultural expressions of the city and its people.

Legumes
Untitled from Gabriela G. on Vimeo.
This is a very rough cut of an experimental short film I wrote/directed (but never edited) many years ago in school. The 16mm cinematography was beautifully done by Justin Adams, with assistance by Gerardo Merino.
There was no sound recorded live. I am creating the soundtrack completely from scratch - from the ambient sound to composing the soundtrack.
I will write more about the theme at a later time.
Nucleus Gallery Show
This is a short little video of my friend Chris Rabelwongse's first show at Nucleus Gallery in February. I want to make an extended video soon.
